SPOSFI: City Hall Rally for Condo Conversion Reform, Wednesday, February 4th
By Noni Richen, SPOSFI President

January 27, 2009

Please join SPOSFI, Plan C, The TIC Coalition, and other groups for a RALLY AT CITY HALL, to support condo conversion reform.  We will use the annual condo lottery to highlight the injustice caused by the outdated process that lets only 200 units per year become condominiums.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 4, 8:15 AM

CITY HALL STEPS (POLK STREET)

We will rally, fueled by Peet's coffee provided by Plan C, then march to Room 400 for the 9:00 am lottery drawing, stopping at Supervisors' offices to deliver petitions supporting condo conversion reform.

Reforming condo conversions will give young families a chance to own their homes in San Francisco without having to wait years while paying high-interest TIC loans.  Home ownership is consistently opposed by tenant groups, many of which are headed by individuals who are homeowners. Their argument, that delaying condo conversions preserves rentals, is a callous maneuver to maintain political power on the backs of young homeowners.

Please support home ownership by joining us at City Hall. Thanks, and I'll see you there!

Sincerely,

Noni Richen, President
