Action/Alerts

SPOSF: CORRECTION: Please email Judiciary and Housing Committee members regarding Leno's SB 1439.

January 12, 2014

Dear Small Property Owner:

CORRECTION: Please note, some email addresses in the previous email message were incorrect and have been updated in the current list.

We almost defeated SB 1439 at the State Senate. We want to defeat it in the Assembly. The bill would dilute the Ellis Act and require many properties to be held for 5 years before they could be sold. Attached is a list of California State Assembly Committee members who will be dealing with this bill next Wednesday, June 18.

Attached is the list members and email addresses. The list contains a full-length letter if you want to send a hard copy (snail mail) but you can send just a short message. If you email a short message be sure you include the title "In opposition to SB 1439 - Ellis Act Changes."

Here is the pdf of the letter and addresses

This is essential. As June 18 is next week, please send these out right away. The message does not need to be long. The sample below is a short version to one of the Assemblypersons, you could send similar short versions to all of the others on the list above.

The Honorable Bob Wieckowski

California State Assembly
State Capitol, Room 4016
Sacramento, CA 94249

Dear Assemblymember Wieckowski:                         In opposition to SB 1439 - Ellis Act Changes

As you are the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Judiciary, I am writing to you for help in defeating SB 1439. This legislation establishes a special interpretation of State Laws for San Francisco. It is not a good way to legislate.

Thank you.

(Your name and address)

Thank you.  Noni Richen, President
