Action/Alerts
ACTION ALERT - Write Recology to Protest Rate Hikes!
You have read in the April Newsletter that Garbage rates for multiple unit buildings will be considerably higher than the estimate of 16.4% for single family homes.
Moreover, there will be two additional rate hikes. We want to protest these rate hikes and Proposition 218 allows us to do so. To protest you must send a hard copy letter (emails are not accepted) with an original signature, exact address, block and lot numbers, and/or your refuse collection account number. The form letter below meets these requirements but you are welcome to submit your own text. We only have a few days to get these protest submitted.
They will become part of the permanent record.

Dear Sir/Madam:
Please accept this letter of protest OPPOSING the proposed increase to the Residential Refuse Collection and Disposal Rate. The primary reason for my objection to this rate increase is that the increase cannot be passed on to tenants. The S.F. Rent Control ordinance allows annual rent increase of only 60% of CPI regardless of cost increases.
Very truly yours,
