The Airbnb legislation is finally before the Land Use Committee of the Board of Supervisors. This legislation severely limits our ability to manage our rentals! Please attend the hearing at City Hall, this Monday, September 15, 1:30 pm.
TODAY email the members of the Land Use Committee.

Currently the legislation honors "no-subletting" clauses in lease agreements. But there are still a number of outstanding issues that need to be corrected.

Please write Supervisor Kim, Supervisor Weiner, and Supervisor Cohen today, with the following points and recommended amendments:

1.    Property Owner permission must be a requirement before a tenant can register a short-term rental with the City.

2.    A publicly accessible registry needs to be set up, hosted on the Planning Department's Property Information Map, which tracks the address and apartment number, the number of nights the unit has been listed, and the nightly rate being charged.

3.    Commercial General Liability Insurance of $1,000,000-$2,000,000 must be required to indemnify the other tenants in the building and the building owner.

4.    Life/Safety and Building Code issues need to be addressed.

The hearing will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. We need speakers if we have any chance of securing the amendments to the legislation that we absolutely need. Thank you.
