Moments ago, in a Housing Committee hearing in Sacramento, we were successful in defeating AB 1506. With the deck stacked against us and key committee members absent, our efforts and advocacy paid off. The final vote came in at 3-3-1 and here's how it went down:

-          Assembly Member David Chiu (Democrat, San Francisco): Yes
-          Assembly Member Marc Steinorth (Republican, Rancho Cucamonga): No
-          Assembly Member Jim Wood (Democrat, Santa Rosa): No
-          Assembly Member Ed Chau (Democrat, Arcadia): Abstain
-          Assembly Member Steve Choi (Republican, Irvine): No
-          Assembly Member Rob Bonta (Democrat, Oakland): Yes
-          Assembly Member Mark Stone (Democrat, Monterey): Yes

It was truly amazing and gratifying to see so many people from SPOSFI and from all over California in Sacramento waiting for their 30 seconds to testify. (I heard estimates of 700 people from our side). Your efforts really paid off. Thank you also to the organizations and individuals who contributed cash and services to the effort.
